Using the L3 10G Industrial Ethernet Switch, an administrator can conveniently boost network efficiency by configuring Layer 3 static routing, the RIP (Routing Information Protocol) or OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) settings automatically. The RIP can employ the hop count as a routing metric and prevent routing loops by implementing a limit on the number of hops allowed in a path from the source to a destination. Using the OSPF, autonomous systems are based on link-state dynamic routing. As a result of the exchange of link states among Layer 3 switches, a protocol creates a link-status database. The Shortest Path First algorithm then generates based on that database’s routing table.

With LLDP-MED, that enhances the automation/management of certain types of network devices like IP Phones, etc. In LLDP-MED, the capabilities of a connected device are determined and whether those capabilities are enabled. It will then keep sending out LLDP-MED packets until the remote device to which it is connected ceases to be LLDP-MED capable.

FR-9T44F8 provides Cisco-like commands via Telnet or console for reducing product learning time. Additionally, the FR-9T44F8 offers secure remote management through SSH connection, which allows for secure packet content at each session.
